Floor Bass Effect Resonance

Hgc engineering has assisted in diagnosing and correcting many situations where people walking in corridors or performing rhythmic exercises such as aerobics have resulted in surprising.
Floor bass effect resonance. So even with their volume at a reasonable level we can feel and hear the bass sound vibration. Office spaces are generally expected to have low levels of background vibration. In effect this is due to the port resonance imposing its characteristics to the note being played and is grossly exacerbated if the port resonance. Ideally i figure you d want a bass with a rediculously high resonant frequency so minimize the losses which would mean a perfect bass would be infinitely stiff.
A common situation found in buildings is floor vibration. Standing waves and room resonance modes. Any time you have a pair of parallel reflective surfaces like room walls or the floor and ceiling you re going to experience some degree of a phenomenon known as standing waves standing waves distort the bass and lower midrange frequencies from 300 hz on down. My neighbor is reasonable and wants to work together to try to fix this problem.
Not only is the low bass boosted because of room gain but we now have peaks and dips in the response caused by the constructive and destructive combination of direct and reflected energy along with room resonance modes. Or the floor should be designed to resist the anticipated dynamic loads due to rhythmic activity which should be considered as an additional imposed load case. Torrance ca 90505 usa. 1 877 671 2200.
This bass has a brass nut fitted presumably when the neck was changed and having owned two p basses since the early 60 s i can honestly say i haven t heard or played a bass with the resonance and tone this bass has. Is there any substance in my presumption that the brass neck has had this effect on this cherished bass. Odd how that keeps coming up. The floor may be designed to have a fundamental frequency of at least 8 4 hz vertically and at least 4 hz horizontally in which case the resonant effects need not be evaluated.
However this does give some strength to the wood tone argument.
