Fitbit Not Counting Floors

It does not register floors when you go down.
Fitbit not counting floors. I thought buying the gw vs gear s3 frontier was a smart futureproof buy but not if it isn t accurate. If the floors you re climbing are shorter than 10 feet you may find that the fitbit tracker s floor count doesn t exactly match how many floors you ve gone up. Another cause of inaccurate floors is moisture. Firstly our office building is 5 floors so i know i climb a lot of stairs per day but i tend to take the elevator a few times and i notice that my fitbit still counts this as climbing stairs.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Fitbit has probably has the same sensor as the 737 max. The reverse can happen if you are out in a windy environment you could get changes in air pressure around your fitbit and it will register phantom floors. I have a 2 story house and it registered 1 floor all day.
Your device may count less floors than you think it should for a variety of reasons. As wtksk8r mentioned your device registers one floor when you climb about 10 feet at one time. I am assuming that the fitbit is broken but thought inwould raise the issue on here if it can be fixed easily with the app. Exposure to excess moisture can also cause result in fewer floors.
Whenever i seems like it is not counting floors correctly i start the altimeter app and magically the floor count starts working. It s not ideal but there is a workaround. I normally do around 40 60 floors a day and no i m lucky if it registers 1. It consists of adding a driving activity to override the extra.
Usaf larry is right that if the altimeter is blocked then your tracker won t be able to detect the variances in atmospheric pressure so it won t detect your climbed floors. Over the past week my fit bit has stopped counting floors. In any case i found that it does have one redeeming feature of somehow kicking the floor count reading so it starts working. For example the pathway to the altimeter on the back of your tracker can become clogged temporarily with sweat.
You could be experiencing a neutral pressure in the building because if the fitbit doesn t detect and change in air pressure every 10 it will not register a stair floor. I purchased this to replace my fitbit blaze and old asus zw2 which is dying and wanted 1 device to cover both of their functionality. You can use compressed air at a distance to clear this area and you can also try restarting your tracker by doing the following. I also question the step count.
Is there a way to prevent the fitbit charge 4 from counting your floors. Because the device looks for continuous motion pausing when you go up a flight of stairs can cause the device to not count the floor.
